Our sermons for the month of September will be focused in the book of Ecclesiastes as we seek the perfect wisdom of our God. The 'preacher' in this book is identified as the son of David, king of Jerusalem. David's son Solomon reigned as king of Israel just as his father did. Solomon ruled the nation for 40 years, from 970 to 931 B.C.

Solomon had wealth, wisdom and fame and yet came to the conclusion that it was all meaningless. In our sermon text, Ecclesiastes 1:12-18, Solomon shares his frustration that all his wisdom was a striving after the wind. What was it that made Solomon's wisdom meaningless, and how can wisdom from God be different?

Seeking God's wisdom with you,

Pastor Kirk
