The wounded heart - hurtful words spoken, promises not kept, losses of all kinds can leave us with “a wounded heart”. Because we live in a broken, fallen world it is inevitable that this does and will occur in our lives. We are wounded
and we wound others. You might say, “What a mess! How do I patch up my wounded heart and move on?”

Our Lord, Jesus knows all about “wounded hearts”. On the cross, upon his death, a soldier pierced his side with a spear. Out flowed blood and water. This buildup of fluid and blood is a classic sign of catastrophic heart failure.
You could say that Jesus died on the cross of a true broken heart! This morning we will strive to see how God “speaks to the wounded heart” that leads not to a patch up job but rather to deep healing of our “wounded hearts”.

Blessings,
Father Gary Seymour
