Our sermon text for today is found in the first chapter of Job. In this passage, we read of a storm in Job's life that brought great difficulty and sorrow. Unlike Jonah, this storm was not brought on by any sin or failure on Job's part. Rather, this storm was caused by someone else.

Can you relate to Job? Perhaps you or someone you love is in the midst of a trial that was caused by someone else. This doesn't seem right or fair to us. We can learn this morning from Job, Job's friends, and the Lord in how we can respond and process these unfair storms in life.

Warren Wiersbe writes, "As we study Job, I trust two things will be accomplished in your life - you will learn to be patient in your trials and that you will learn how to help others in their trials." By God's grace, may this be true for us today.

Serving Christ alongside you,
Pastor Kirk Thorson
