Sermon Preview

Today our sermon text is found in Matthew 8:23-27 in which we read of the account of Jesus and the disciples in the boat on the Sea of Galilee during a storm. This chapter in Matthew records many miracles of Jesus; healing individuals from diseases and even demon possession. Jesus displayed his power over nature in stilling the storm that raged on the sea. Jesus' actions displayed his absolute power and proved that He indeed was the Son of God.

The account of Jesus and the disciples also remind us of the storms in life we face that come through the fault of no one. The disciples were following Jesus, and yet they found themselves terrified at the storm they faced. Can you identify with the disciples today? Perhaps you are struggling with an issue that just seemed to come out of the blue. May you find comfort and strength today in the power and deliverance of the Savior today

Serving Christ alongside you,
Pastor Kirk Thorson
